Long Count
A city under the long sky. Venus rises and falls. Water, maize, knowledge, people, and faith in the future. Civilizations forget how to build what they once built. The game asks what you refuse to forget.
You steward a Classic-period city. Not a cartoon. A living system under a sky someone already learned to count.
Civilizations forget. Egypt forgot pyramid craft and how to read its own signs. Maya cities reorganized; knowledge fled into other forms. Entropy is not only heat death. It is craft that no one renews.
Meters are blunt on purpose. The game asks what long-horizon attention costs when the short term screams. Venus is a public clock. You choose how loudly to hear it.
From the first sacred hymns we can still name, through Venus tables, through multiplanetary work: restoration after forgetting. Pay attention. That is how a count continues.
Any civilization that loses faith in the future will die. Exploring the stars is an exciting future you can believe in.

…ancient Egypt, where they were able to build these incredible pyramids, and then they basically forgot how to build pyramids. And then even hieroglyphics, they forgot how to read hieroglyphics… entropy is not on your side.

What happened to humanity?
Perhaps we stopped paying attention.
The Great Pyramid’s geometry has long invited a 42° reading in this chronicle. Stone that still holds a sky angle after the living language of a people thins. Forgetting is not only lost technique. It is lost relation to what the technique was for.

History compressed for play. Drought, warfare, elite fracture, and lost horizon braid.
